Pinkies Share Your Photos!

There are many different ways to share your photos on line, but for this tutorial we will be using the Yahoo! Photos service.

Yahoo! Photos has several advantages. If you are already a member of the Pinkies Yahoo! Group you will have a Yahoo! ID, so signing up for the service is easy. Also, your personal storage space is unlimited, so you can upload and share those 583 photos of your skiing holiday if you really want. This will also help take the load off the limited storage capacity of both the Pink Singers website and the Pinkies Yahoo! Group. Finally, you can't beat the price - it's free!

How Do I Prepare My Computer to Share Photos?

If you are a complete novice, you are advised to open a second broswer window so that you can swap back to this window as you go along.
Each step has an associated picture, click on each to get a bigger view of what you should be seeing, and look out for the pink indicators which highlight important features.
Good luck!

Step 1: Surf to the Yahoo! Photos Website and sign in

Click on to get to the Yahoo! Photos website. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password, and sign in.

Don't have a Yahoo! ID?

Step 2: Create a new album

Click on the picture of a photo album to create a new album.

Enter a title for your photo album then choose the option to keep the album private. This will ensure that only people you have invited to view the album will be able to see it. You can leave the other options unchecked. Note that we don't advocate uploading those types of photos, but if you must, then please tick the 'Age Restriction' box!

Step 3: Download and install the photo upload software

This step configures your computer and web browser to upload photos. You will only need to do this once. Click on 'Get Started' to proceed.

Follow the instructions on the next page carefully. This varies from browser to browser. Essentially you need to download the software and install it. When you are done, close and restart the browser, then go back to the Yahoo! Photos website.

Your computer is now ready to start uploading photos!

When you have chosen all the photos you want to upload, click on 'Continue' to proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Upload your photos

When you click on the 'Continue' button, the upload process begins. You will see the blue progress bar fill in from left to right as this occurs. Please wait until all the files are uploaded.

You will be informed when the upload is complete. Now you can view your album, or share it with others!

Step 3: View your album

If you click on 'View Album' you will be shown the thumbnails of the images you have uploaded. Click on a thumbnail to view the larger photo.

If you like, you can also add to, remove or edit the photos in this album from this console.
