Love the Pinkies? Then why not become a “Friend of the Pink Singers” and be part of a special group who support us and help us achieve our artistic aims & charitable objectives. By becoming our “Friend” you are also supporting our outreach, campaigns and support for other charities.

Why would we like your support?

There are two main reasons we’re launching our Friends scheme.

  1. To provide support to our oppressed LGBT+ friends overseas

We are lucky that LGBT+ people enjoy essentially the same legal status as everyone else in the UK.  It’s vital that we continue to promote equality to support friends and communities in countries where the same rights don’t exist.

Approximately 35 Pinkies had a very successful trip to India in January 2017 to help our friends Rainbow Voice Mumbai to promote LGBT equality and the repeal of Section 377. We were able to help fund their visit to London in July 2017 to perform with us and take part in London Pride, and we were so pleased when Section 377 was repealed in 2018.

In 2016 Rainbows Across Borders came to visit us in rehearsal and we formed a close bond with this group of LGBT asylum seekers. We would love to do more community and outreach projects like this, both at home and overseas.

A small group of Pinkies had a very successful trip to Taiwan in October 2015 for Asia’s first LGBT choral festival – we aim help all more of our members be involved in similar projects in the future, including a planned trip to promote LGBT equality in India in 2017.

We also had a very successful trip to Malta in 2009 where we promoted social equality through music and doubled the size of the local Pride march.

2. To participate in more special events and help support local LGBT charities in London

With your help we would love to support members of our community in London by arranging activities such as workshop days, this successful workshop ran at the Southbank Centre in 2014

We would like to be able to participate in more special events throughout the year, in addition to our two main concerts. We performed at the EY Foundation charity auction, Heathrow Airport’s Pride Celebration and the launch of the Hogan Lovell’s LGBT network. We are also are forging strong links with our nominated charity London Friend who we have been fundraising for in 2018. Previous charity partners have been Diversity Role Models & the Albert Kennedy Trust

We would love to continue taking part in projects and developing our own – and with your help, we can do more. So why not have a look at the options below?
