All Pinkies give a little bit of themselves to the choir, but every year there are a few Pink Singers who are generous (foolish?) enough to give that little bit more. Here’s a shout out to this year’s Pink Singers management committee and artistic team. Feel free to get in touch with them with suggestions or ideas you may have for the choir.
Year: 2011

The Pink Singers are taking part in the No to Hate Crime Vigil again this year in Trafalgar Square, on the 28th October, and we would like as many people as possible to come along and show their support. The vigil has become an important date in the calendar and we’re fully commited to showing our support by performing at this event.

Our auditions are over, next week our brand new season fully starts with new and old faces. So we thought it was a good time to take a look at the past year and remember the brilliant time we had together.
Check out our choir yearbook from winter season 2010 and summer season 2011. Continue reading “Pink Singers choir yearbook 2010-2011”
Accompanist needed
The Pink Singers, Europe’s longest established lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) choir, seeks a professionally trained accompanist for the 2011/12 season.
A typical year might include two major London concerts, an average of two concerts elsewhere in the UK, one foreign trip and numerous small group private and community events. Working with the Musical Director, Murray Hipkin and supported by the Assistant Accompanist, the successful candidate will provide keyboard accompaniment at rehearsals and performances and will be a key member of the Artistic Team.
Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons in the Euston area and the repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary pop and musical theatre. Excellent keyboard skills in a range of styles are essential and some experience of choral training, conducting, improvising and arranging would be an advantage.
To find out more about this exciting opportunity please email chair@pinksingers.co.uk for an application pack, and visit www.pinksingers.co.uk for general information about the choir. The closing date for applications is 02 Oct 2011.
Starting our winter season 2011
On 11 September we started our Winter season 2011/12, and even when we are still auditioning new members, we can already feel the Pinkie magic. New songs, New challenges, New members. But at the same time, the good old family and memories of our past season.
Razzle Dazzle, our summer 2011 concert, was very enjoyable for us, and we hope for our audience as well, so we want to share with you one of our favourites: You Can’t Stop The Beat, enjoy!
